It’s been a good week for weather study as there’s been a lot of weather out there!
We’ve been checking out the types of clouds, recording the rainfall and watching our home made barometer. The Beaufort scale was brought to life by a branch falling in the garden during this week’s gales. (A good excuse to get the saw out and chop things up.)
The Met Office website has lots of videos and explanations for budding meteorologists. You don’t need any complicated kit to start collecting weather data, and once you have you can enter it into the Weather Observation Website to keep track and share it with others. See this video to find out more about how it works.
This very beautiful version of the Beaufort Wind Scale is from kindlingplayandtraining where it is free to download.
